Programme Overview:

This workshop was organised according to the UBL Action Plan 2026 to build capacity for handicraft-based entrepreneurship. Key Outcomes:

  • Students gained practical knowledge on converting traditional handicraft skills into sustainable startups.
  • Staff acquired knowledge to better guide and mentor students in entrepreneurial ventures.
  • Awareness was created about the support programmes from the National Crafts Council for young entrepreneurs.
  • A formal linkage was established between the university and the National Crafts Council for future collaborations.

Follow-up Meeting:

A follow-up meeting with department staff was held immediately after the main workshop to discuss the support provided by the National Crafts Council (training programmes, mentorship, market linkages, certification, exhibition participation, and internships). Departments identified their contributions to facilitate student-led handicraft entrepreneurship initiatives.
