Traditional Food Festival and Exhibition Successfully Conducted on 25th June 2026 at Faculty Of Siddha Medicine
The Department of Noinaadal Chikitsai, in collaboration with the Unit of Industry and Community Linkages, Faculty of Siddha Medicine, Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University, Sri Lanka successfully organized a Traditional Food Festival and Exhibition on 25 June 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Faculty of Siddha Medicine Lecture Halls.
The festival was creatively organized and presented by the 2021/2022 Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS) batch students to promote awareness of traditional foods, their nutritional and medicinal value, and to strengthen university–community engagement. Several organizations, including the Agrarian Services Center, Uppuveli, Kesha Product (Linganagar), Shafa Traditional Food (Nilaveli), Pall Uyir (Pvt) Ltd. (Karainagar, Jaffna), and other regional traditional food producers, participated by exhibiting their products and sharing their expertise.
The event was attended by the Rector of Trincomalee Campus, Eastern university Sri Lanka, Deans of the faculties Trincomalee Campus, Eastern university Sri Lanka, EUSL, Heads of Departments, Trincomalee Campus, Eastern university Sri Lanka, academic and non-academic staff, students, and members of the public, making it a successful platform for promoting Sri Lanka’s rich traditional food heritage and strengthening industry and community collaborations.
