Workshop on “Zero Tolerance for Ragging: Awareness, Prevention, and Support Mechanisms”

The Unit of Gender Equity and Equality (GEE) at the Trincomalee Campus successfully conducted a workshop titled “Zero Tolerance for Ragging: Awareness, Prevention, and Support Mechanisms” for the first-year students of the Faculty of Applied Science (2023/2024 batch). The sessions were held on 16th September 2025 and were facilitated by Mrs. S. Priyadharsan, the Gender GEE Coordinator.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of ragging, emphasizing its legal, psychological, and social consequences. It provided students with practical strategies for prevention and introduced the available institutional support mechanisms.
