Workshop on Understanding and Addressing Gender-Based Issues in Higher Education

The Unit of Gender Equity and Equality (UGEE) conducted a workshop on “Understanding and Addressing Gender-Based Issues in Higher Education” for first-year students of the Faculty of Applied Science (2024/2025 Batch) as part of the Orientation Programme on 08 June 2026.

The session was facilitated by Dr. (Mrs.) S. Priyadharsan, who provided valuable insights into gender-related challenges encountered in higher education environments and highlighted the importance of fostering respect, inclusivity, equality, and a safe learning atmosphere for all students.

The Department of Noinaadal Chikitsai Faculty of Siddha Medicine, Trincomalee Campus, EUSL successfully conduct a workshop on Hands on Training On “Minor Surgical Procedures and Wound Dressing” on April 23, 2026, from 09:00 am to 01:00 pm at Smart lecture Hall, Faculty of Applied Science, Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University Sri Lanka. This session was attended by Year V semester II (2018/2019) batch students Faculty of Siddha Medicine Students. The resources are Dr. K. Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya served as the resource persons and the Academic, Administrative & Non – Academic staff of the Trincomalee campus attended the workshop as participants.

Workshop on Enhancing Teamwork and Effective Health Promotion Strategies

The Unit of Social Reconciliation at Trincomalee Campus successfully organized two workshops for cleaning service staff on 10-04-2026 at the FCBS Auditorium, Trincomalee Campus.

The first session, titled “Creating a Supportive Work Environment through Teamwork,” was facilitated by Mrs. S. Priyadharsan, Senior Lecturer Gr-I, Department of Business and Management Studies, Faculty of Communication and Business Studies, Trincomalee Campus.

The second session, titled “Enhancing Workplace Harmony and Social Reconciliation through Health Promotion Strategies,” was facilitated by Dr. B. Mithurendran, Senior Lecturer Gr-II, Department of Noinaadal Chikitsai, Faculty of Siddha Medicine.

The workshop on “Understanding & Navigating Academic Administration & Policies” was held on 09th April, 2026 – 09.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at the Mini Auditorium (ITC building), Trincomalee Campus. Mr. M. M. Mohamed Fareez, Bursar, Eastern University, Sri Lanka served as the resource persons and the Academic, Administrative & Non – Academic staff of the Trincomalee campus attended the workshop as participants.

Workshop on Fostering a Culture of Peace in University Life through Experiential Sharing

The Unit of Social Reconciliation at Trincomalee Campus successfully organized a workshop titled “Fostering a Culture of Peace in University Life through Experience Sharing” for the first-year students of the Faculty of Communication and Business Studies (FCBS) on 13-03-2026. The session was facilitated by Mohamed Nisar Fathima Nusfa, Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Language and Communication Studies, FCBS.

The workshop aimed to promote a peaceful and inclusive university environment by encouraging students to reflect on and share their personal experiences related to harmony, mutual respect, and coexistence within the university setting.
