Promoting a Safe Campus Environment: Addressing Ragging in the University System
The Unit of Gender Equity and Equality (GEE) successfully conducted an orientation workshop titled “Promoting a Safe Campus Environment: Addressing Ragging in the University System” for the first-year students (2024/2025) of the Faculty of Siddha Medicine, Trincomalee Campus on 06-03-2026. The session was facilitated by Mrs. S. Priyadharsan, the Gender GEE Coordinator.
Through this orientation session, the Gender Equity and Equality (GEE) Unit reaffirmed its commitment to promoting student well-being and ensuring a ragging-free learning environment within the university community.




Workshop on Microcontroller-based Innovative Product Development







Workshop On Fundamentals Of Clinical Neurology: A Diagnostic Approach
Department of Noinaadal Chikitsai, Faculty of Siddha Medicine, Eastern University, Sri Lanka, successfully conducted the workshop titled “Fundamentals of Clinical Neurology: A Diagnostic Approach” on 25th February 2026, from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon at the Mini Auditorium, Information Technology Centre, Trincomalee Campus.
The session was delivered by Dr. Tanya Suvendrini Lena (MD, MPH, FRCPC CSCN – EEG), Consultant Neurologist at Women’s College Hospital, Toronto, Canada. The workshop focused on enhancing students’ diagnostic skills in clinical neurology, providing comprehensive guidance on structured neurological examination, diagnostic reasoning, and modern clinical approaches to neurological disorders.
The programme was highly beneficial for participating students, offering a valuable opportunity to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical clinical application.














Student Leadership in Building Inclusive Communities
The Unit of Social Reconciliation of the Trincomalee Campus, in collaboration with the FCBS Cell of Social Reconciliation, successfully organized a workshop titled “Student Leadership in Building Inclusive Communities” on 19-02-2026, from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon.
The session was facilitated by Senior Professor Aruna S. Gamage, Director of the Social Reconciliation Centre (SRC), University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
The workshop aimed to strengthen the role of student leaders in fostering inclusive and harmonious communities within the university environment.




Crafting Your Future
The Unit of Social Reconciliation at Trincomalee Campus successfully conducted a workshop titled “Crafting Your Future” for the student leaders of the Trincomalee Campus on 19-02-2026, from 1pm to 4pm. The session was facilitated by Senior Professor Aruna S. Gamage, Director of the Social Reconciliation Centre (SRC), University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
The workshop aimed to empower student leaders by enhancing their leadership capacities, personal development, and vision for the future.Â




Gender-Based Harassment and Safety Challenges on Social Media Platforms
The Unit of Gender Equity and Equality, in collaboration with the FCBS Cell of Gender (GEE), organized a workshop titled “Gender-Based Harassment and Safety Challenges on Social Media Platforms” on 21-01-2026.
The session was conducted by Mr. K. Balashankar, Lecturer, Department of Physical Science, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Trincomalee Campus.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness about various forms of gender-based harassment encountered on social media platforms and to educate students on recognizing, preventing, and responding to such challenges. The resource person highlighted the legal, psychological, and social dimensions of online harassment and emphasized the importance of responsible digital behavior.

The Financial Literacy Program
The Financial Literacy Program was conducted on 14th November 2025 at the Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University of Sri Lanka.

The program was organized for undergraduate students, with the participation of over 100 students. It was conducted by Mr. Muath Mubarak, Head of Knowledge Marketing & Financial Inclusion, Amana Bank PLC, together with the Knowledge Marketing Department team and the Kinniya Branch team of Amana Bank PLC.

The session was primarily based on the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Financial Literacy Road Map, along with an introduction to Amana Bank’s alternative banking system, aimed at enhancing students’ financial awareness and understanding.
