The Student Affairs Division of the Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University, Sri Lanka is responsible for the welfare of all enrolled students. It functions closely with all other administrative and academic departments to assist students in peacefully completing their degree program and developing their intellectual capacity.

Student Enrollment and Documentation

Students are enrolled mid-June after receiving the registered students list from the University Grants Commission. Students must check their registered emails frequently for enrollment and orientation information. Late enrollment may defer students to the next academic year.

Hostel Accommodation

Trincomalee Campus has five hostel complexes for male and female students:

Due to limited accommodation, first-year and final-year students are prioritized for hostels. Second-year students must arrange outside boarding.

Canteen Facilities

There are two main cafeterias: Common Canteen and Green Canteen. From mid-2023, Green Canteen extended to hostel premises.

Health Center Facilities

Trincomalee Campus Health Center operates with a visiting Medical Officer and Nursing Assistant. Services are free for students and staff. Doctor visiting hours: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM daily.

Scholarships

The division manages all scholarships such as Mahapola and Bursary. Applications are collected during enrollment and registration periods.

Recreation Activities

Cultural programs are supported with recreational rooms, auditoriums, and equipment under coordination with the cultural coordinator.

Disciplinary Procedure

The division convenes disciplinary inquiries for incidents like ragging or other conflicts to maintain a smooth student environment.

Students Unions

Each of the three faculties has a students’ union. Eligible registered students can vote and hold office, ensuring equal opportunity across gender and ethnicity.
