ACTION PLAN MID-PROGRESS REVIEW 2026
The meeting for the Action Plan Mid-Progress Review 2026 was successfully conducted on 07-08-2026 at the Board Room, Rector Office.Ā All faculties, departments, library, centers, and units participated.






Learning to Live with Diversity
The Unit of Gender Equity and Equality (UGEE) conducted an awareness workshop titledĀ “Learning to Live with Diversity”Ā for first-year students of FCBS as part of the Orientation Programme. The sessions were held onĀ 16 July 2026Ā forĀ DBMSĀ students andĀ 28 July 2026Ā forĀ LCSĀ students.
The workshop was conducted byĀ Mr. M. S. Ishar AliĀ and focused on promoting respect for diversity, mutual understanding, inclusivity, and harmonious relationships among students, encouraging a welcoming and supportive university environment.





Prohibition of Ragging and Other Forms of Violence in Educational Institutions (Act No. 20 of 1998)
The Unit of Gender Equity and Equality (UGEE) conducted an awareness workshop on theĀ Prohibition of Ragging and Other Forms of Violence in Educational Institutions (Act No. 20 of 1998)Ā for first-year students of FCBS as part of the Orientation Programme. The sessions were held onĀ 16 July 2026Ā forĀ DBMSĀ students andĀ 28 July 2026Ā forĀ LCSĀ students.
The workshop was conducted byĀ Dr. (Mrs.) S. PriyadarshanĀ and focused on creating awareness of the legal provisions against ragging, promoting mutual respect, and encouraging a safe, inclusive, and violence-free university environment.




A workshop on filmmaking
A workshop on filmmakingĀ was conducted by the cast and crew of the AYU movie for BA (Communication Studies) students on 31st July 2026




















Workshop on Promoting Positive Attitudes through Social Movements
The Unit of Social Reconciliation of the Trincomalee Campus successfully conducted an orientation program for theĀ 2024/2025 batch of studentsĀ of theĀ Department of Business and Management Studies, Faculty of Communication and Business Studies, onĀ 15thĀ of July 2026.
The program focused on promoting positive attitudes through social movements and encouraging students to become responsible and socially conscious individuals.

Workshop on Student Excellence through Responsibility: Promoting Positive, Self-Disciplined, and Responsible Learners
The Unit of Social Reconciliation of the Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University, Sri Lanka, successfully conducted a workshop for Grade 06 students on the 10thĀ of July, 2026, at T/R.K.M. Sri Koneswara Hindu College (National School), Trincomalee.
The workshop aimed to promote positive attitudes, self-discipline, responsibility, and personal excellence among students.

Workshop on āEmbedded System Design – IIā
The Faculty Career Guidance Cell (FCGC) of the Faculty of Applied Science, Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University, Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Department of Physical Science successfully conducted a workshop on āEmbedded System Design – IIā for first- and second-year students of the Department of Physical Science.
The sessions were held at the Electronics Laboratory across multiple dates: 6th and 7th July 2026 for the 2023/2024 batch, and 9th and 10th July 2026 for the 2022/2023 batch. The workshop was facilitated by Eng. S. Jeyaram and Eng. R. Vinojan, along with instructors from the Department of Physical Science, with additional support from facilitators from the 2021/2022 student batch.
The program provided students with foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in microcontrollers and the Internet of Things, enabling them to develop basic embedded systems and understand hardwareāsoftware integration in real-world applications.

















Health Awareness Programme on Traditional Foods versus Junk Foods
The Department of Gunapadam, Faculty of Siddha Medicine (FSM), Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University, Sri Lanka, conducted a Health Awareness Programme on Traditional Foods versus Junk Foods on 08 July 2026 (Wednesday) from 9.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. at T/R.K.M. Sri Koneshwara Hindu College, Trincomalee. The programme is intended for students of Grades 8 and aims to promote healthy eating habits by emphasizing the nutritional and cultural value of traditional foods while creating awareness of the adverse health effects associated with the regular consumption of junk foods. Through interactive sessions, the programme seeks to encourage students to make informed dietary choices and adopt healthier lifestyles.

The Workshop on āCurriculum Developmentā, organized by the Curriculum Development Committee of the Faculty of Siddha Medicine, Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University, Sri Lanka, was held on 30.06.2026 at the Board Room, Faculty of Siddha Medicine, Trincomalee Campus. Prof. T. Mathiventhan, Professor of Botany, Department of Botany, Faculty of Science, Eastern University, Sri Lanka, served as the Resource Person for the workshop.







Workshop on āProfessional Email Writing and Official Correspondenceā
The workshop on āProfessional Email Writing and Official Correspondenceā was held on 24th June, 2026 ā 01.30 a.m. to 04.30 p.m. at the Mini Auditorium (ITC building), Trincomalee Campus. Dr. Ebenezer Breman Veerasingam, Department of Language & Communication Studies,Ā Faculty of Communication & Business Studies served as the resource persons and the Administrative & Non – Academic staff of the Trincomalee campus attended the workshop as participants.
