On the 7th of February 2023, the Muslim Majlis launched its ‘Green Shadow Revolution’ tree planting campaign in an effort to create a more sustainable future. With the goal of combating climate change and reducing our carbon footprint, the campaign aimed to plant a variety of trees throughout the community to enhance our environment and promote a greener world.

Participants from all academic and non-academic staff of Trincomalee Campus gathered to be a part of this noble cause. They planted different species of trees around the athletic ground, contributing to the cause of preserving nature.

The ‘Green Shadow Revolution’ campaign drew a great deal of enthusiasm and interest, as people recognized the urgent need to protect the environment. The event was marked with a sense of community spirit and cooperation, as individuals of all ages and backgrounds came together for a common purpose.

The campaign not only provided an opportunity for participants to take action on climate change, but also to learn about the benefits of tree planting and the role it plays in creating a healthier environment. The ‘Green Shadow Revolution’ was a resounding success, and the Muslim Majlis look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on our planet.
